Counseling & Support Services

Life brings unexpected weight. Our church is committed to walking alongside you with prayer, biblical counsel, and a community that won't let you carry it alone.

Our Approach to Care

Our Church Support Services program is dedicated to providing compassionate, faith-centered, and professionally guided care to individuals, couples, and families seeking support through life's challenges. We believe that true healing involves addressing emotional, relational, mental, and spiritual well-being together, which is why our approach combines professional counseling principles with strong theological foundations. Our mission is to create a safe and supportive environment where people can find hope, restoration, clarity, and practical guidance rooted in both clinical excellence and biblical values.

Trained Counselors, Compassionate Hearts

All therapists, counselors, and support staff serving within our ministry have received formal training in conflict resolution, advanced psychological practices, and theological counseling. Our team members are equipped with the knowledge and experience necessary to help clients navigate a wide range of personal and relational struggles, including marriage and family conflict, anxiety, grief, trauma, communication difficulties, emotional stress, spiritual concerns, addiction recovery support, parenting challenges, and major life transitions. Through ongoing education, supervision, and professional development, our staff remains committed to providing the highest level of ethical, compassionate, and effective care possible.

Personalized for Every Story

What makes our support services unique is our belief that every person and every family has a different story, different experiences, and different goals for healing and growth. Because of this, we do not take a one-size-fits-all approach to counseling and support. We carefully customize our services to best meet the needs of each individual, couple, or family we serve. Whether someone is seeking short-term guidance during a difficult season or ongoing support for deeper healing and restoration, our team works closely with clients to create a personalized plan that aligns with their emotional, relational, and spiritual needs.

Support for Individuals

For individuals, our counseling services provide a confidential and supportive space to process personal struggles, strengthen emotional resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies while receiving encouragement grounded in faith and compassion. We help clients identify patterns that may be contributing to emotional distress while also empowering them with practical tools to move forward with confidence and stability. Our counselors seek to create an atmosphere where individuals feel heard without judgment and supported throughout their journey toward healing and personal growth.

Support for Couples

For couples, our services focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, strengthening emotional connection, and resolving conflict in healthy and productive ways. Relationships often face seasons of stress, misunderstanding, and emotional distance, but we believe restoration is possible when couples are equipped with the right tools and support. Through guided conversations and evidence-based relationship strategies, we help couples develop stronger foundations built on understanding, accountability, grace, and mutual respect.

Support for Families

For families, we work to restore unity, improve communication between family members, and strengthen the emotional health of the home environment. Family dynamics can be deeply complex, especially during seasons of transition, conflict, grief, or stress. Our counselors help families navigate these challenges by encouraging healthy communication patterns, conflict resolution skills, emotional awareness, and practical solutions that promote long-term relational health and stability.

Resolving Conflict with Wisdom

Our advanced conflict resolution training allows counselors to guide difficult conversations with wisdom, professionalism, and care. We understand that unresolved conflict can create division, emotional pain, and long-lasting relational damage. However, when conflict is approached with empathy, accountability, healthy communication, and emotional maturity, it can also become an opportunity for healing, reconciliation, and deeper understanding. Our team is trained to help clients work through disagreements in productive and respectful ways that promote trust, connection, and long-term relationship health.

Faith Integrated with Care

In addition to psychological and relational support, we recognize the importance of spiritual care in the healing process. Our theological training allows us to thoughtfully integrate biblical principles, faith-based encouragement, and spiritual guidance into sessions when appropriate and desired by the client. We understand that many individuals seek counseling not only for emotional support, but also for spiritual clarity, purpose, and restoration. Our goal is to help clients strengthen both their emotional well-being and their spiritual foundation while honoring their personal beliefs, values, and comfort level.

Confidentiality You Can Trust

We are also committed to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical care. We understand that seeking support requires vulnerability and trust, and we take seriously the responsibility of protecting the privacy and dignity of every client we serve. Our counselors strive to create an environment where clients feel safe sharing openly about their experiences, struggles, and goals without fear of judgment or shame.

Beyond the Counseling Room

Beyond counseling sessions, our Church Support Services program seeks to strengthen the overall health of the community through educational workshops, marriage enrichment programs, parenting support resources, mentorship opportunities, crisis support, and spiritual growth initiatives. We believe healthy individuals and families contribute to stronger communities, healthier relationships, and deeper connections within the church body and beyond.

Walking With You Through Every Season

At the heart of our ministry is the belief that every person deserves to be treated with compassion, dignity, patience, and respect. We recognize that healing is often a process, not a single moment, and we are honored to walk alongside individuals and families during some of the most important and vulnerable seasons of their lives. Our role is not simply to provide advice, but to offer support, guidance, encouragement, and practical tools that empower lasting growth and transformation.

Through personalized care, highly trained professionals, faith-based support, and a deep commitment to emotional and relational wellness, our goal is to provide the best possible outcomes for every individual, couple, and family we have the privilege to serve. We remain committed to helping people move toward healing, restoration, healthier relationships, emotional strength, spiritual renewal, and a greater sense of hope for the future.

How to Get Started

Reaching out the first time is usually the hardest part. Here is exactly what happens once you do:

1. Call or message us.

Call (323) 353-9727 or send us a message on Facebook. You can ask for "counseling" or "to talk to a pastor." You do not need to explain everything up front. We will find a time within the week — same day if it is urgent.

2. We listen first.

The first session is mostly about understanding where you are, what you are carrying, and what you are hoping for. There is no agenda we need to push you through. Bring whatever you bring.

3. We build a plan together.

Some situations call for a short conversation and a season of prayer. Others call for ongoing meetings over weeks or months. Some call for us to connect you with a licensed Christian therapist for clinical care while we keep walking with you pastorally. We figure that out together, not in advance.

4. We do not disappear.

Counseling is one piece. The other piece is being known and prayed for by a community that does not move on when your hard season is no longer fresh news. That is why we connect counseling to the broader life of the church whenever you are ready.

A few practical notes before your first session.

  • Sessions are confidential. The only exceptions, required by California law and counseling ethics, are situations involving danger to self or others, or abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult.
  • There is no cost for pastoral counseling. If we refer you to a licensed therapist, their fees are separate.
  • You do not need to be a member of our church. You do not need to be a Christian. You only need to be willing to sit down and talk.
  • Bring a list of what is weighing on you if it helps you stay focused. Or come empty-handed. Either is fine.
