Our Story
The ministry began in 2015 — a church born in the heart of God. We believe we were called to bring encouragement to families, established by God in the city of Bakersfield. Our task as a Christian Church is to be a light in a time when humanity profoundly needs God.
This year, by the grace and faithfulness of God, we have had the privilege of receiving support and covering from Ministerio Aliento de Vida in Bakersfield, under the spiritual covering of Ministerio Profético La Roca de Salvación.

We are a family church. That is our vision. We love God, and we love family deeply. The foundation of our church is God, His Word, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe the mouth of God has the power to give life. That's why we carry this name. This house is filled with His Breath. The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground; He breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being (Genesis 2:7).
In this place of new beginnings, we believe many promises will be resurrected. A place to start again, believing in the God of new opportunities. In God, the old has passed away — everything is made new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Pastor Giovani & Vasni Cortes
Pastors Giovani and Vasni Cortes lead Aliento de Vida together, with a strong burden for families, marriages, and the next generation. Their lives are a testimony of what God can do when ordinary people say yes. Pastor Giovani holds a Bachelor's degree in Theology and has served in the ministries of ushers, worship, youth, cell groups, Sunday school, and as co-pastor before stepping into the senior pastorate.
What We Believe
Our convictions are not complicated. They are the historic Christian faith, lived out in a Spirit-filled, family-rooted way. Here is the short version of what we hold to:
- One God — eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Creator of all things, full of love and full of holiness.
- Jesus Christ — fully God and fully man, crucified for our sins, risen on the third day, ascended to the Father, and coming again. He is the only way to salvation.
- The Holy Spirit — alive and active today, indwelling every believer, empowering the church for worship, mission, and service, and still giving the gifts described in Scripture, including tongues, prophecy, and healing.
- The Bible — the inspired Word of God and the final authority for faith and life. We teach it in context. We submit to it. We let it shape us, not the other way around.
- Salvation — a free gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. Not earned, not deserved, never withdrawn from those who keep coming.
- The Church — the family of God on earth. Marriage between a man and a woman as designed by God. Children as a blessing. Generations carrying the Word forward together.
- Eternity — every person matters to God forever. Heaven and judgment are real. Today is the day to respond to His invitation.
How We Live It Out
Beliefs alone do not make a church. These are the practical commitments that shape how we gather, lead, and walk with one another:
Prayer first, prayer often. Wednesday night prayer is not a side program. It is foundational. We believe God moves when His people gather in His name and ask Him to.
Family is the unit. We do not see kids as a distraction or teens as a problem. We disciple them alongside their parents because God's heart for families is one of the clearest themes of Scripture.
Honesty without shame. You can come in the middle of a storm. You can come in the middle of a sin. You can come with questions our pastors will not have neat answers to. None of that disqualifies you. Pretending you have it together does.
Accountable leadership. Our pastors are not islands. Aliento de Vida operates under the spiritual covering of Ministerio Profético La Roca de Salvación — meaning we are accountable to seasoned leaders beyond our own walls. That covering protects us and you.
Restoration, not just attendance. The goal is not a bigger Sunday count. The goal is people whose marriages, minds, and futures look different five years from now because Jesus met them here.
