Our Story

The ministry began in 2015 — a church born in the heart of God. We believe we were called to bring encouragement to families, established by God in the city of Bakersfield. Our task as a Christian Church is to be a light in a time when humanity profoundly needs God.

This year, by the grace and faithfulness of God, we have had the privilege of receiving support and covering from Ministerio Aliento de Vida in Bakersfield, under the spiritual covering of Ministerio Profético La Roca de Salvación.

Our Vision

We are a family church. That is our vision. We love God, and we love family deeply. The foundation of our church is God, His Word, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

We believe the mouth of God has the power to give life. That's why we carry this name. This house is filled with His Breath. The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground; He breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being (Genesis 2:7).

In this place of new beginnings, we believe many promises will be resurrected. A place to start again, believing in the God of new opportunities. In God, the old has passed away — everything is made new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Pastor Giovani's Calling

"The Lord called me to know Him and to carry His Word. From the very beginning, that call shaped every step of my life. I did not step into the pastorate overnight. God took years to prepare me. He put me in the small places first, the quiet places, the places where no one applauds and the character work gets done. I served as an usher, learning to welcome people the way Jesus welcomes people. I served in worship, learning that ministry begins on your knees before it ever begins on a platform. I served as a youth pastor, walking with a generation the world was writing off. I led cell groups in living rooms. I taught Sunday school. I stood alongside senior pastors as co-pastor and learned what it means to carry a house. Every one of those seasons was training. Every one of them was faithfulness before there was a title. And through all of it, God kept His hand on my life. That road eventually led to the pastorate, and to a Bachelor's degree in Theology, but honestly the degree is the smaller part of the story. The bigger part is this: God is faithful. He finishes what He starts. What He puts in your heart, He will bring to pass in His time. That is the gospel we preach here, because it is the gospel we have lived."

Pastors Giovani and Vasni Cortes lead Aliento de Vida together, with a strong burden for families, marriages, and the next generation. Their lives are a testimony of what God can do when ordinary people say yes.

What to Expect

Our services are bilingual-friendly, Spirit-led, and centered on Scripture. Worship is heartfelt. The teaching is rooted in the Word. And there are real people who will pray with you afterward — for healing, for families, for whatever you carry through the door.
